The sixth graders transition to seventh grade is a big step from snack breaks to working without a break at all. This is a big progress because classes become harder and you don’t have to stay in the same class throughout the day. This makes the days go by faster. Some say that they are getting pushed too hard and maybe not pushed so much because it’s too much pressure on them. Kendall Serafin says, “they’re wanting us to get multiple things done at once and it’s too hard.” Others say that they want to be pushed harder to excel faster so they could either get into advanced classes or college classes. Janet says “I want to get pushed harder in some classes, but in others I do not want to be pushed so much.” She understands that the teachers only want us to learn and get better though. I think to summarize between the two interviews that the teachers need to push them put to help them along the way and if it gets too hard for them then to extend the due date so they can work through it and not feel like they’re falling behind. Good luck to all the new seventh graders.
